It is wear-resistant, tear-resistant, and guaranteed leakproof. * Duro-Last is premanufactured and custom fitted to ensure water tightness, economy of materials, and speed, ease, and quality of installation. * Duro-Last is a mechanically fastened system with compatible, non-corrosive, and environmentally clean materials and a minimum of rooftop welding. All facias are vinyl because of its aesthetic, cost, and durability advantages over metal. For further information on the Duro-Last System, please email me at mcroof@a-m-u.net. EPDM is a heavy rubber roofing membrane that is mechanically fastened to the decking with treated roofing screws and galvanized roofing plates. EPDM comes in 20'x100' rolls. Because of the 20' width, fewer field laps are needed. For example, a 20' x 60' building would only require 2 field laps. EPDM can also be cut down to fit smaller buildings as well. EPDM roofs are 15 - 20 year roofs depending on application type. EPDM can be applied in two ways, mechanically sealed or fully adhered. Here is an example of a mechanically sealed proposal: * To reroof entire roof area with one layer of heavy 45 mil EPDM rubber roofing membrane mechanically fastened to the decking with treated roof screws and galvanized roofing plates. All seams to be field lapped 6" as well as mechanically fastened to insure no lap separation. All firewall flashings to be re-covered with 45 mil EPDM rubber roofing adhered to existing firewalls. All pipes, vents and other roof protrusions to be sealed with 60 mil EPDM rubber flashing material or preformed rubber roof boots. Contractor carries all necessary insurance on building and workmen while work is being completed. <end of example #1> Here is an example of a fully adhered proposal: * To mechanically fasten a 1/2" ply of high density recovery board to the roof decking with 3" galvanized roofing plates and treated roofing screws. To fully adhere one ply of 45 mil (also available in 60 & 90 mil) EPDM rubber roofing membrane to recovery board with EPDM contact bonding adhesive applied to both surfaces. To Field lap all seams 6" and then seal with EPDM lap sealant. To flash all firewalls with 45 mil rubber membrane fully adhered to walls and finished at the top with 1 1/2" aluminum termination bar and concrete hit pins drilled into masonry. All vents, pipes, and chimneys flashed with EPDM flashing rubber. Contractor carries all necessary insurance on building and workmen while work is being completed. <end of example #2> McDermott & Son Roofing also offers custom built commercial gutters and facia metals for a complete roofing job.
